Ed leads the 21 Trust, an organisation at the forefront of innovation in the UK education system. In 2012 he co-founded School 21, a new school in Stratford, east London and is now working to roll out their ground breaking speaking skills curriculum to schools across England. Ed also advises several education institutions including Eton College, Teach First and Cambridge University.
Ed is driven by the belief that the current education system in the UK is not preparing young people with the skills they need to thrive in the 21st Century. Ed is now working with Big Change to raise the status of speaking skills in schools. They are just as important as reading and writing skills for young people and yet very little time is spent teaching them in school, often no time at all. This not only affects a child’s ability to communicate but also their confidence and wellbeing– we want it to be given as much focus as literacy and numeracy!Back to Big Changers
